Steve had everything to live for. His wife was the ultimate companion and mother. His kids brought him joy. A satisfying career added to the richness of his life.
Then a devastating diagnosis hit him like a baseball bat: cancer. The rarity of it added to the grim news. His doctor looked at him for a few seconds, then mentioned treatment options.
Steve didn’t hear him.
In our series this week, “He Lives,” the takeaway is that our great God has cleared a path for us.
Revelation 19:16 says, “On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”
Jesus is a king and leader unmatched anywhere. He is our source. He is life itself.
Steve knows that today. More than 10 years after he had the life scared out of him in a cold and sterile doctor’s office, Steve is healthy and whole, enjoying his family and choices in life like never before.
Maybe you are sitting here today after hearing your own terrible news. You feel life is shattered.
It isn’t. Jesus is Lord of Lords, and the Author of Life. Tell him right now that you need Him like never before. Whisper your fears to Him in private and believe that He will hear you and act.
Let’s pray.
Lord, life sometimes just scares us to death. But you are all about living in victory. Thank you for intervening just when we need You the most! Amen.
