The book of Revelation scares some of us, and it’s a source of confusion and debate for others.

But if we block out all the noise and read it for ourselves, we see it is nothing more or less than a beautiful description of our Jesus. It is an unveiling of the Greatest Man Who Ever Lived. He created the world we live in, He knew us long before we were born, and He is preparing an indescribable world for us to go to one day.

Revelation 19:16 says, “On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

We celebrate life this week in our series, “He Lives,” and when we let the words of this ancient book soak into our senses, we learn that Jesus is active and working today, building a future Kingdom to welcome people from all languages and backgrounds.

In the time that Jesus walked the earth, Jewish religious men wore robes with knotted fringe, reminding the wearer of God’s commandments. They are deeply personal for the wearer.

In the case of Jesus Himself, the garments He will wear for eternity set Him apart as our Ultimate Leader, the One who has loved us all along. His name is unique in all of history.

And he loves you with an everlasting love!

Let’s pray.

Lord, our world is sometimes chaotic, but in Jesus we have serenity and peace. Thank you for sending Him to our world. We love you! Amen.
